招生 Process

The 荣誉项目 admits talented and dedicated students who are looking for an enriched 荣誉 education, who are academically high-achieving, who express an interest in problems and questions out of their major, and who show a potential for undergraduate research. As part of its process, the 招生 Office sends invitations to admitted students whom they believe best reflect the values of the 荣誉项目.

Students may also apply for admission to the Program during the second semester of their first year or first semester of their sophomore year.  The requirements for admission are as follows:

• Letter of intent
  • Students should submit a letter of intent (short essay), including why they are interested in the 荣誉项目 and why they would be a good fit for the 荣誉 community. New applicants should review the 荣誉项目 section of the Marist website to gain a better understanding of the program’s values and requirements.
• Resume: students should follow standard resume protocols for typical information to be included, and also incorporate the following as much as possible:
  • Major awards and honors
  • Extracurricular activities
  • 领导 experience
  • Service-related activities
  • 平均绩点
• Letter of support from the student’s academic advisor
  • Students must review their application with their academic adviser to ensure the 18-credit 荣誉项目 requirements fit into their four-year plan. Please note that students who did not take 荣誉 first-year seminar or 荣誉 writing for college are required to take additional 荣誉 seminars to make up those credits.

入学 Application for Current and 转移 Students

转移 students who were enrolled in an honors program at their previous institution may apply by presenting a letter of application, a letter of support from a faculty member at their previous institution, and a complete transcript indicating the honors courses taken. 除了, individual students will interview with the Director of 荣誉 to assess their academic standing and to determine if any of the Marist 荣誉 seminars have been satisfied by those taken at the previous institution.  Final approval of the application must be granted by the 荣誉 Council.
