联谊会 & Sorority Life At Marist

Welcome to bet亚洲365欢迎投注! We are excited you have selected Marist and hope 希腊的生活 is one way you will become involved and stay connected to the Marist community. 

联谊会 & Sorority life began in 1776, with five students at the College of William & Mary who founded Phi Beta Kappa, the first organization to call itself a fraternity.  Although fraternities and sororities have evolved over time their core concepts, 校长, and values of brotherhood/sisterhood, 服务, 奖学金, and leadership remain. 

The Marist 联谊会 and Sorority community is comprised of seven Greek Organizations- three fraternities and four sororities with over 300 members.  Involvement in 希腊的生活 will give you the opportunity to participate in leadership positions within your chapter, 管理委员会, philanthropy and 服务, organize social functions, and become an active leader on campus.

Please take a moment to look through the information presented on this website.  Our hope is that you will become involved on campus and  strongly consider participating in our Greek community.

A community is comprised of many different elements.  There are over 300 members belonging to seven chapters.  Members have the opportunity to become involved within their organization in a variety of ways.  Some may also select to be a representative or serve on the boards of our two councils.  Here you can learn about all of the elements that come together and make the Marist Greek community.

Community Service, Philanthropy & 事件

The Greek community devotes their time, 技能, and talents to serve others through philanthropy, 筹款, and 服务 (to the campus, 当地的, regional and national communities). Each of the seven chapters at bet亚洲365欢迎投注 frequently participates either nationally and/or supports 当地的 and regional agencies throughout the year-all for great causes.

Greek Council and Sorority Council also work to support the 当地的 community of Poughkeepsie in community-wide 服务 projects.  The councils also work to support the community 服务, philanthropy, and events of each chapter.  If you are a chapter philanthropy or 服务 chair looking for more opportunities please contact Greek Affairs.

Suspended or Unrecognized Groups

The Office of Student Activities would like to advise all students and parents/guardians that there are some groups that attempt to function as a Greek organization but are not recognized by the College.  We discourage students from attending events or affiliating with these unrecognized or suspended groups:

  • Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) - Unrecognized by bet亚洲365欢迎投注
  • Alpha Phi Delta (APD) - Unrecognized by bet亚洲365欢迎投注

If you are approached by or have knowledge of groups not regonized by the college but are recruiting or holding meetings please notify the Office of Student Activities at 845-575-3279.  bet亚洲365欢迎投注 does not advise or control the actions of these groups and has notified their headquarters or leadership that they may not associate themselves with bet亚洲365欢迎投注 and are not recognized by the college.
